World Warp III: A film in progress

A recent history of the future from nullnetwork.org

World Warp III is about waves of rapid change happening on our small planet, these ranging from the sixth mass species extinction to the intense political, economic and media environments that shape our lives. It’s about our  failing to negotiate the reality of the biosphere that we call home, and the divergent pressures on humans to change—to evolve—in the early years of global warming/warping as  temperatures bust across red-line Paris thresholds while carbon emissions continue to juggernaut.

The film is a visually intensive “post-truth documentary.” We meet staff of the fictional nullnetwork.org as the group considers the latest developments in climate change for youtube-type videos.

The screenplay melds radically diverse elements by way of creating a kaleidoscopic experience of what’s actually happening on Earth, in the nation, and to the people. World Warp III is set beginning September 11, 2016, just as something called the Pacific Warm Blob made minor news as its massive presence lurked off the West Coast. Its emergence was more of a sign than anyone recognized of what what was—and is—happening below the surface.
